Safari

€0.00

This was magical.

I was walking in this open hilly landscape at the Amsterdamse Waterleiding Duinen looking for the fox.
Instead, I noticed three fallow deer standing still as statues, right in front of me, staring. As I got closer, they decided to walk away, but little did I know..

Slowly walking up to the spot where they disappeared, I was hoping to catch them.

As I got closer to this hill where the fallow dear disappeared, I saw this beautiful landscape on my left and I couldn’t believe what I saw. The red sun created this golden hour, full of warm tones. It felt like I was on a safari.

I shot my first photo’s. With the adrenaline rushing through my body, I knew I had to get closer.

As I walked closer, the fallow deer started to notice, so they kept on walking further away from me, but slowly.

As the distance grew, I saw my chance to get this amazing shot. I rushed myself to the ground, got my camera as low as possible but creating just enough foreground. Set my focus on these three fallow deer, my aperture at f/8, shutter-speed at 1/400 and my ISO on auto.

I pressed the shutter, “Click”

It was a matter of seconds. Feeling anxious, I got back into my camera to preview the photo on my LCD screen. My first words were “Wow, I couldn’t have gotten better conditions”

I was starting to feel so much joy, because I did it!
